Dental facilities in the Atlanta, GA area are here to help patients in maintaining great oral health and enjoy beautiful smiles for life. Dr. David Lamothe of Smyrna Dental offers a number of cosmetic procedures which may be used to address a number of aesthetic issues, including porcelain veneers.
Porcelain veneers are utilized by many patients as a fast, long-term way of addressing imperfections within the smile. Veneers are made of porcelain and are extremely thin. They are bonded over the front of a natural tooth to cover problem teeth that are misaligned, stained, or broken. Dr. David Lamothe may suggest porcelain veneers in these specific cases and can also discuss alternative options including orthodontics, dental bonding, or teeth whitening.
Porcelain veneers are popular because they are affordable, long-lasting, and provide amazing results. Because veneers are made of ceramic, they closely resemble natural tooth enamel and provide a beautiful solution to a problem smile. Ceramic is not only attractive but extremely strong, making it a great option for dental restorations such as bridges, crowns, and veneers.
Patients who believe veneers are appropriate for their smile are encouraged to contact the team of Smyrna Dental to learn about the many ways in which they can rejuvenate the smile and disguise many areas of concern. Using veneers is a wonderful way for patients to achieve the smile they’ve always wanted. However, patients must be examined to determine if they are an appropriate candidate, and if so, go through the process.
The process of obtaining veneers starts with a consultation visit and examination. At this time, Dr. David Lamothe will determine if patients are a good fit for this particular restoration. If so, preparation is done on the teeth. This includes the removal of a thin portion of tooth enamel to reduce bulk to the tooth once the veneer is placed. Dr. David Lamothe takes impressions of these teeth which are sent to an outside ceramist for the fabrication of the new veneers. This process takes approximately one to two weeks during which the veneers are made and sent back to the dental office. Dr. David Lamothe then bonds these veneers over the front part of the tooth once patients return back to the dental chair and allows these individuals to enjoy a brand new, rejuvenated smile (678) 374-3764.
